can access second harddrive

Can access second harddrive

I'm running 3 80Gb drives :- One with vista 'clean installed', the second with my original XP (diconected & interchanable with the vista drive) the third drive has all my doc's on it (NTFS partition originaly created in partition magic 8.0)....Vista says it's (active, unknown partition) but can convert to dynamic disk... if i do this will XP still be able to access the drive or is there another way to fix without loss ANY data???

One of two possibilities:
Either:
* PartitionMagic didn't truely create an NTFS driuve and Vista has spotted this, and so doesn't recognize the drive format
or
* Vista is buggy in this respect and can't read the disk.
If you have the drive space, I suggest that you copy the entire contents of this drive to somewhere else, trash the drive in XP, re-create the partition (NTFS) and try it again. I presume the XP partition can be read from Vista OK (have you tried this?)?
